Tagaytay is known for its delicious “bulalo” and food in general, scenic view of the Taal Lake, and the rich aroma of the famous coffee houses in the area. This year, my friends and I decided to spontaneously explore Tagaytay for a day. It was our first out-of-town trip as friends so we really had fun!
For everyone who is planning to go for a day trip in Tagaytay, here are you essential food and destination guide:
Visit the Cliffhouse
If you want to enjoy a fantastic view of the Taal Lake while you are munching on your mochi and savoring your gelato, or dining with your friends – go and visit the Cliffhouse! Tucked inside the place are choices of restaurants where you can dine, or take out food while leisurely taking photos of the lake.

Enjoy food and Coffee in Bag of Beans
Bag of Beans is one of the famous coffee shops in Tagaytay. They have several branches that are strategically located near the highway, so you can easily stop by to have some upper.
Try their Shepherd’s Pie at 140 PHP – single. This is an English dish where ground beef/lamb is topped with mashed potato glazed with a tasty sauce.
Order your favorite coffee like this Caramel Machiatto at 120 PHP only – it is really good, especially if you are into the roasted coffee beans quality.
Devour awesome food choices in Breakfast at Antonio’s
This place in Tagaytay serves a wide variety of food choices that are truly delectable! These are some of the food to share that you can indulge in this place:
Bacon Roiste at 320 PHP – ah, had I known that this is really good, I should have ordered two servings!
Beef Stroganoff Pasta at 550.00 PHP – I had a great time devouring this pasta too!
“We’ve beer there done that”…aside from coffee, the drink to have when the weather is breezy is this craft beer!
Spaghetti Bolognaise at 495.00 PHP
End your day with a high note, head over to Bulalo Point
The best way to cap off your day is to enjoy some hot bowl of bulalo soup. You can stop by at Bulalo Point and have their delicious yet affordable bulalo. You can also order a generous serving of sizzling sisig and gambas for a truly delightful experience!
Their Special Bulalo (350 PHP good for 3) is really good and comparable to other known bulalo places in the area.

YTB knows you are now excited of your own Tagaytay food adventure. Here are some additional tips that might help you plan your trip:
- Avoid the rush hour – leaving at 7:00-08:00 am is still safe if you are coming from Metro Manila area
- If you plan to drop by at Antonio’s, make sure to secure your reservation first. This is a known place in Tagaytay and the queue is really long.
- Bring a sweater or scarf just in case the weather drops to its lowest temperature (especially in the afternoon)
- Anticipate the traffic. This is a known fact when you are in Tagaytay, so condition yourself to face this.
- Enjoy your food trip!
