Aside from the random stuff I am hooked to, I was particularly excited about our son’s first birthday party! I talked to Mr. Yellow about that details and he was very supportive of it. That was my queue, I did some research for the suppliers, scouted for venues, printed invitations… in short, did all of the logistical aspect of the party preparations.
I will not dwell further into the details of it, but here are the important information you can use as a “cheat-sheet” for your kiddo’s party.
Select a Theme:
For the baby YTB’s birthday, we chose “M&Ms in Pirate Land” as the theme.
This was the first step I had to do before I planned out on the the other details of the party.
Prepare the Party Essentials:
Cake:
My friend recommended Irene to do the cake and the cupcakes for our son’s birthday and I never regretted choosing her. I just gave her the description of how I want the cake to look like, and she waved her magic to create this magnificent output!
The Red and Yellow M&Ms details are impressive isn’t it?!
Cupcakes:
I was hands-on on the details of the party and I am very much pleased with the cupcakes. Oh, by the way, these sweets taste as good as they look.

Backdrop
I never regretted the decision to pay special attention to the backdrop as it added life to the party. Also, I had it painted at 500 PHP only.
Welcome Sign
I had this done along with the backdrop and this sign was such a cutie!
Loot Bags:
Even the loot bags were personalized. I had the bags printed in Divisoria then bought the chocolates in S&R.
Prizes
Do not forget the prizes. This is one of the main essential elements of a kiddie party.
Party Venue:
Since our son’s birthday is on December, we had challenges booking for a big, clean, and cute venue at a reasonable price. You know, demand for venues during Christmas season is pretty high. Thank God we found The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH) Market Market in Taguig and it was the best venue we could ever find at that time. Since the venue is in the mall, guests did not have a hard time attending the event.
The best thing about TOSH is that their main menu includes pasta and chicken which are the main foods in most of the kiddie parties.

Centerpieces
My mother-in-law personally created these balloon centerpieces. It heightens the festivity mode of the place so were really grateful of her creativity!

Magician
To keep the party rolling, we hired a host/magician. We were very specific of our requirement that the magic should be fun, wholesome, and without any tricks that can be associated to violence.
Photo booth
The party of course would not be complete without the photo booth, so we secured one.
Layout of the picture frame in the photo booth:
Face Paint
We only wanted the best for our son’s first party, so for everyone to enjoy, we made sure to have someone to do the face painting.

M&Ms Family Picture
More than the party, we would always want our little traveler to go back to this day and remember that he is well loved by his family.

It was overall a successful party and we are now looking forward to planning for more family events.
Special thanks to Ronwald King for the photos.
