I was very thankful to my colleague who recommended me Sicilian Roast as the place of choice for my dinner date with my friend. The ambiance is cozy, they serve variety of wines and drinks, the food is good, and for anyone who have already been to Sicily, the mementos would surely bring back memories.
Just recently, I had the chance to re-connect with my very good friend back in college. It has been five years since we last talked and seen each other yet, it was pretty interesting how we could still recall a lot of our significant memories in the university. We got wine for our dinner and as the night deepens, so as our stories and hilarious recollection of our college days.
Linguine Frutti de Mare (620.00 PHP). Just like any seafood pasta, this dish goes well with white wine.
Bufala Caprese (570.00 PHP). I specifically liked this dish because of the milky, soft, and creamy chunk of the buffalo cheese. It was my first time having this dish and I could outright say that: “mozarella di bufala is love”! Although I have to agree with my friend, a fresh crunchy tomato will best pair this cheese.
Panna Prosciutto e Funghi Pizza (590.00 PHP). I certainly go for their pizza. You will fall for the soft and chewy dough and the delicious medley of flavors on top.
If I look back to our food adventure as students, I couldn’t help but smile. In the past, given the limitation in our allowances, we couldn’t splurge that much but we can still have a great time buying street food at the proven and isaw place. Sometimes, we share these together in the “org tambayan” while waiting for our regular meeting. And who would ever forget the siomai of all time: Papus’s siomai! Our shared memories as students definitely made my college life an amazing one! Now, I can only look forward to more food adventure and date like this with the important people in my life.
